Facilitators – 2026 Vancouver Island Yoga Retreat

Facilitators

The 2026 Vancouver Island Yoga Retreat facilitators include a variety of qualified and compassionate yoga instructors. This means that attendees of all levels will be able to participate and enjoy their practice throughout the weekend. Enjoy Yin and Restorative with Tamu, Gentle and Vinyasa with Claire, Chair Yoga with Charlotte, or all of the above!

In addition, this year’s Vancouver Island Yoga Retreat facilitators include Cheryl Guay of The Loft Studios. Cheryl’s workshops are not to be missed! They add a delightful way to get to know fellow participants while creating something fun and meaningful to remember your weekend with.

Tamu Miles - 200hr RYT and owner of Mumma Magma Yoga.

Tamu is a 200hr RYT, meditation teacher, tarot reader, writer, astrologer and owner of Mumma Magma Yoga.

She is passionate about providing accessible, inclusive, and down-to-earth classes to Vancouver Islanders. She brings a light hearted, yet grounded energy to her yoga classes and believes that yoga is truly meant for every body, especially those who are Gen-X and older, and who deal with chronic pain or mobility issues.

Tamu is excited to co-host the third annual Vancouver Island Yoga Retreat at The Loft Studios in Mill Bay and, along with other amazing instructors, guide you through two days of yoga, art, self-care, and connection.

Tamu will be offering Yin and Restorative Yoga at this retreat, as well as workshops that will focus on the doshas (fundamental bioenergetic forces), and the Yamas and Niyamas (ethical practices).

Cheryl Guay

Art Workshops

Cheryl Guay of The Loft Studios in Mill Bay

Cheryl is an artist and art instructor who left the corporate world in 2021 to pursue her passion. In January of 2026 she opened The Loft Studios in Mill Bay and since then has been hosting popular classes in her beautiful, newly renovated studio.

Cheryl is all about building community and creating inclusive, fun, safe spaces for people to explore their artistic side, no matter their experience. That’s why her artistic explorations are one of the highlights of these annual yoga retreats and are not to be missed.

Cheryl will be offering fun and playful art exploration workshops on both Saturday and Sunday. With her guidance you will create a Tree of Life using wire, beads, and a river stone, and a windchime made of stones and beach wood.

Claire Venables

Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga Classes

Claire is a yoga instructor with over six years of teaching experience, offering vinyasa, restorative, and chair yoga. Raised on Vancouver Island, she feels a strong connection to the natural environment, which inspires her approach to teaching—encouraging mindful movement and presence.

She has experience leading retreats and loves creating supportive spaces where people can slow down and reconnect. Her classes are accessible, grounding, and adaptable for all levels.

For this retreat, she will be offering one energizing vinyasa-style class and one gentle slow flow, designed to balance strength, movement, and relaxation. Her hope is that you leave each practice feeling refreshed, grounded, and more connected to yourself.

Charlotte Fisher – Coastal Flow Yoga

Ashtanga, Chair, Foundational, Hatha, Prenatal, and Vinyasa

When Charlotte stepped into a small yoga studio on Vancouver Island for her first class she felt an immediate connection.  Since beginning her journey in 2015, yoga has helped her cultivate balance, mindfulness, strength and flexibility both on and off the mat.

Charlotte completed her first 200 hour YTT in 2022 and now has her RYT 550.   As a teacher, she is eager to share the benefits of yoga with others.  She aims to empower students to embrace the practice, no matter their ability or experience.

Charlotte is delighted to offer chair yoga at the retreat—a welcoming, accessible practice for every body and every stage of your wellness journey. Through gentle, mindful movement and an emphasis on breath, this class will leave you feeling refreshed, energized, and ready to step into your day.
