Class descriptions

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a slower paced yoga that often utilizes props. It focusses on the power of the breath while gently building strength, increasing flexibility and balance, and calming the nervous system. These classes are great for experienced and non-experienced practitioners alike, and are accessible to those who deal with mild mobility issues.

Gentle Yoga

These classes are slower, low-to-the-ground, and are for those with mild to moderate mobility issues who are usually new (or newish) to the practice. With the use of props, participants will be given adaptations that allow them to find their version of traditional poses while utilizing the breath to release muscular and nervous system tension. Students must be able to get up from, and down to, the floor.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is an excellent option for those individuals who have difficulty getting up and down from the floor. These classes allow those with moderate to more extreme mobility issues to stretch, tone, and lengthen without fear of injury. These classes are also just a great way for those who spend a lot of time seated to learn tips and tricks for relieving tension as well as joint, neck and back pain.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a practice that invites students to hold postures for a longer period of time, usually without the use of props. These classes are great for those who do not struggle with mobility issues and have at least some yoga experience. Students will be given the space to release deep-tissue tension, strengthen joints, and increase flexibility.

Vinyasa Yoga

With Vinyasa Yoga, the pace is quicker and the poses a little more advanced. These classes are perfect for those who want to create a little heat, build strength, and work on balance. Each session begins with a warm-up and ends with a cool-down to allow students to integrate the nutrients of their practice and set intentions.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga classes are for those who consider themselves to be intermediate to advanced yoga practitioners. In these classes students will be invited to generate heat and build strength and stamina in a mindful, controlled manner. Minimal cues and alignment tips are provided, and it is expected that each participant will know how to modify poses, if required. Each session begins with a warm-up and ends with a cool-down to allow students to integrate the nutrients of their practice and set intentions.
